The statutory period for complying with or denying a FOIA request shall now begin until the request is received by the FOIA Officer. Pursuant to Section 6 of the FOIA, for black and white copies, the first 50 pages are free, and any additional pages will cost 15 cents per page. For color copies or abnormal size copies, the charge will be the actual charge for contracting will a vendor to perform the photo copying services.
The Tinley Park-Park District is a unit of local government incorporated and organized under the laws of the State of Illinois, and which has the purpose of providing leisure services and leisure facilities for the residents within the Tinley Park-Park District boundaries.
The Tinley Park-Park District is located in the Village of Tinley Park, a southwest suburb of Chicago, just 30 minutes southwest of downtown Chicago. The Park District maintains 40 parks, 36 ball fields, 37 playgrounds, 26 soccer fields, 18 picnic shelters and several amenities.
The operating budget of the Tinley Park-Park District for 2015-16 is $10,175,000. The budget for Capital Projects is $558,000 and for Debt Services is $2,126,000.
Its premier facility is the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center located at 8125 W. 171st Street. The Recreation Center amenities include an indoor jogging/walking track, gymnasium with three basketball courts and six volleyball courts, lounge/museum, meeting rooms, program rooms, arts and crafts room, teen/senior drop-in centers, an indoor batting cage, and a teaching kitchen.
The Park District also operates Tinley Fitness, Landmark Museum and Church, McCarthy Recreation Building, Tinley Junction Miniature Golf and Batting Cages, Vogt Visual Arts Center, The Extreme Skate Park, and White Water Canyon Water Park.
The Tinley Park-Park District employs 31 full-time employees and 163 part-time employees and approximately 190 seasonal employees.
