October 28, 2015: The Tinley Park-Park District and The American Ramp Company will host a meeting with local skateboarders and BMX bikers in order to come up with ideas for a skate/BMX park concept design for the existing Extreme Skate Park.
October 20, 2015: The Tinley Park Community Theater hits the stage this November with the hilarious production of “The Nerd” by Larry Shue.
September 30, 2015: As the leaves begin to change and a cool wind starts to fill the air, the Tinley Park-Park District staff knows it’s just the start of one of the busiest times of the year at the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center.
August 7, 2015: At the August 5 Board Meeting, the Board of Park Commissioners of the Tinley Park-Park District approved the refinancing of the remaining $5,370,000 of 2005 authorized general obligation bonds and saved taxpayers over $244,500 with the lower interest rates available now.
June 5, 2015: With what hopes to be the final reschedule of the official opening of the Tinley Park-Park District’s “Canine Campus” dog park, tails will be wagging in Tinley Park by Wednesday, June 17. That is the day the Grand Opening Celebration has been rescheduled until, as signs of Canine Influenza (dog flu) appear to be dissipating in the area, as local animal shelters and veterinarians begins to return to normal operations.
June 3, 2015: The Tinley Park-Park District’s White Water Canyon Water Park will join other member aquatic centers from the World Waterpark Association (WWA) in the 2015 World’s Largest Swimming Lesson (WLSL).
April 21, 2015: With news of the dog flu reaching epidemic levels in the Chicago suburbs, the Tinley Park-Park District has decided to delay opening Canine Campus Dog Park. The Grand Opening Celebration was originally scheduled to be held on May 2, but has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 30 at 10 a.m. at the dog park at the corner of Nielsen Drive and 84th Avenue in Tinley Park.
