Enjoy light refreshments and meet the artist!
The October gallery exhibit will feature Roslyn DeBoer who has had a life long love affair with fabrics and fiber. She learned traditional needle arts from 3 generations of women in her family. While these women used their talents for necessity or hobbies, she has been fortunate to expand on these basic skills expressing myself as a fiber artist. She specializes in realistic representations of natural scenery and incorporate needle art and sewing techniques in different and innovative ways to develop her art. Inspiration begins with places she has been from girlhood vacations in upper Minnesota to her local forest preserve neighborhood, and expands to places she has seen in trips around the US and beyond. As a life-long mid-westerner, she is particularly inspired by the land around me and the four distinct seasons of the upper Midwest.
