From Margi Hafer: My sister, Donna Johnston, left behind a stack of unfinished paintings and collage artwork when she died from Metastatic Melanoma in February 2017. During her last year of life, Donna's eyesight failed her due to her cancer, and radiation that compromised her optic nerve, thus she was not able to complete over 150 of the lovely paintings and collages that she started.
In an effort to honor Donna and her talent, I have created The Sisters Project. Over 57 fellow artists have helped me by choosing one or more of Donna's unfinished works and completing them with watercolor, collage, or mixed media techniques of their choice. Donna's name (either D.L. Johnston or Donna Johnston) and the collaborative artist's name are on each piece.
This special collaboration is documented in a book called "The Sisters Project" that showcases some of Donna's paintings as well as her paintings that were completed by other artists. The book is available in hardcover, softcover and Ebook versions through Blurb.com
