November 12, 2018 –
Do It Wright In Kankakee County
Our first tour and lunch will be at the Bennett-Curtis House. This 18 room mansion was built in 1900 by George M. Bennett and then purchased by Illinois Senator Edward C. Curtis in 1919 in Grant Park, IL. Along the course of the trip, we will be exploring the colorful Barn Quilts in Kankakee
County’s scenic countryside on the motor coach. These 8 foot by 8 foot quilt patterns at select homesteads share a unique story of growth, celebration, toil and tradition. Our final tour is at the B. Harley Bradley House where we will explore the history of the house, the owners, life in
turn-of the century Kankakee, and the birth of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie style design. The registration fee includes roundtrip motor coach transportation, plated lunch and tours.
