TINLEY PARK, IL: Those wishing to test the brand new Canine Campus Dog Park before purchasing a membership are in luck. Tinley Park-Park District Director, John Curran, announced at the dog park’s Grand Opening Ceremony that the park will be open from now until Monday, July 6 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Calls from residents expressing an interest in giving their dog a “test run” within the off-leash dog park prompted the idea to open the park to all for a limited time, explained Curran. The park will be unlocked by Park District Maintenance Staff at 7 a.m. every morning and closed at 8:30 p.m.
Then, on July 6, access to Canine Campus will be for members of the dog park only, and memberships will go on sale that morning at the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center (8125 W. 171st Street, Tinley Park). Membership packets can be downloaded from the front page of www.tinleyparkdistrict.org, or picked up from the front desk at the Rec Center. Memberships are purchased on an annual basis, and are active for one year from the time or purchase. After July 6, the dog park will be open from “dawn” until “dusk”.
The District still strongly recommends ensuring your dog is properly trained and vaccinated before deciding to bring them to the park. Any further questions can be directed to the Tinley Park-Park District main office line (708) 342-4200.
