Unplug from Technology and Plug Into FUN
Unplug Illinois, a program of the Illinois Park & Recreation Association, helps you unplug from technology and plug into activity, adventure, creativity, family and nature. Unplugging has been shown to help improve your quality of life, help you feel more recharged every day, help you sleep better, and improve your interpersonal communication skills.
Will it be swimming at White Water Canyon, miniature golf at Tinley Junction Mini-Golf and Batting Cages, biking, walking, picnics, playgrounds…or maybe just relaxing and unwinding? Whatever your preference, Tinley Park-Park District is your place to leave technology behind and Plug into FUN!
We want “unplugging” to become a habit! So we’re offering this booklet filled with ideas to help you and your family to leave the electronics behind. There are activities to create nature-inspired crafts, make delicious treats, do puzzles, go wildlife watching, coloring pages, fitness and more. Complete one, a few or all of the activities and be eligible to win a prize!
Return your completed pages and the raffle entry form (found on page 2 of the Guide) to the Recreation Center, Attention Carol Bradtke, by August 4. The three lucky winners of a Plug into Play Pack filled with more unplugged fun (geared to ages 3-10) will be announced on August 5!
You can download the guide or pick up one at Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center.
